Welcome and thank you
Photography, for me, has been a life long passion. I won my first camera in a coloring contest when I was 5, but I've owned Melinda Gombert Photography for almost 11 years now. After a few years of shooting weddings, I found my passion was in the unique challenges of working with children and their families.
Whether an intimate maternity session, or a laughter filled family session, I aim to create a relaxed and effortless experience for my clients. The secret is to make the kids (and parents!) leave the shoot feeling like they’ve just made a new friend, and that enables me to capture those special moments of families really being themselves. I absolutely love what I do, and I hope that passion shines through in my work.
I'm a parent too!
No one could have prepared me for how quickly my children are growing up. Nothing in the world can make time feel like it's in turbo drive like having a young family. Those amazing ordinary moments vanish in a heartbeat, and before we know it, they're only memories. This makes me feel like my job is so special. Tiny toes, missing teeth, silly expressions, the relentless desire to play, and the pure love that children have for their parents, are all tiny moments of perfection. My goal is to transform that perfection into beautiful art, so you can keep those ordinary miracles little forever, even when your children grow up.
I love my job
I believe that a special photograph has the power to bring a person to laugh with abandon, move them to tears, and bring back some incredibly vivid memories. That's what I like to capture. The real moments that tell a story and share a memory. Even the not-so-perfect moments tell a meaningful story. I love to work with families in creative ways, playing with new locations, fun and meaningful props, beautiful light, and new perspectives. I try to get to know the families I work with, so that I can connect with them on a personal level to create images that they will cherish forever. I'm proud to say many of my clients have become dear friends over the years, and that might be my most favorite thing about my career.
